Thenga Manga Pattani 
Sundal is sour, sweet, spicy and rich in protein. It is a great evening snack and can be offered as prasadam during festivals. Tangy mangoes adds an extra punch to the sundal.

| Pachai Pattani (Dry green peas) | 1 cup | 
| Raw Mango (finely chopped) | ¼ cup | 
| Grated Coconut | ¼ cup | 
| Onion (finely chopped) | 2 tbsp | 
| Red Chillies | 3 | 
| Mustard | 1 tsp | 
| Urad dal | 1 tsp | 
| Hing | Pinch | 
| Oil | ¾ tsp | 
| Salt | to taste | 
Method :-

1). Soak* green peas overnight or at-least for 6-8 hours and pressure cook it for 1 whistle with salt and enough water. After 1 whistle remove the cooker from stove immediately, otherwise peas will get split/mushy.
2). Heat Oil in a pan, add mustard and let it splutter. Then add urad dal and channa dal, fry till it turns golden brown. Then add onions, red chillies, curry leaves and hing, give it a stir.
3). Add the cooked peas and mix well. Then add the grated coconut and chopped mango pieces. Combine everything together. Switch off ! Pattani Sundal is ready.
Quick Snack is ready ! Serve with hot cardamom tea..

# If using frozen peas, no need to soak or boil. It tastes much better with dry peas.
# *Soak the peas in hot-water for an hour in an air-tight container.
# Any kind of pulses can be used to make sundal.
# Avoid onions, If you are planning to prepare this for Navarathri/festival.
# Do not over cook onions, it should be crunchy.
