Vazhaikkai Poriyal | வாழைக்காய் பொரியல் | Plantain - Raw Banana Stirfry


Ingredients :-

 Raw banana    1
 Onions (finely chopped)    2 tbsp
 Turmeric powder   ½ tsp
 Chilli powder    1 tsp  
 Hing   pinch  
 Mustard    ¼ tsp
 Channa dal    1 ts 
 Urad dal 1 tsp
 Salt  to taste
 

Method :-
-------------

1). Rinse and peel raw banana. Dice them and keep it immersed in water until use to prevent discoloration. Boil 1 cup of water* in a pan, add chopped plantain along with salt and turmeric powder. Let it cook until
they soften. Keep aside.

2). Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, urad dal and channa dal. Saute till they become golden color. Add chopped onions and salt, saute till they turn translucent. Add hing, turmeric powder, chilli powder and saute for a minute.

3). Add cooked plantain and give a stir. Finally add grated coconut, combine and switch off.

Serve with sambar and rasam.

  
Notes :-
-----------

# When preparing the veggie, grease your hands with oil to avoid stickiness.

#* Do not add more water while cooking and make it mushy. Add water just till immersing level.
# Make sure not to over cook, plantain should retain its shape.
