Shrimp tastes great however cooked. South Indian style Shrimp curry is a blend of coconut milk and Indian spices which gives the curry a flavored aroma. This is a very simple curry which can be made in 20 minutes.

Shrimp (I used frozen) | 1 lb |
Onions (finely chopped) | 2 |
Tomato (finely chopped) | 1 |
Ginger garlic paste | 1 tsp |
Coconut Milk | 1 cup |
Bay leaf | 1 tsp |
Cardamom | few |
Curry leaves | few |
Coriander leaves | 1 sprig |
Turmeric powder | 1 tsp |
Chilli powder | 1 tsp |
Coriander powder | 1 tsp |
Garam masala | 1 tsp |
Salt | to taste |
Preparation :-

Thaw Shrimp and keep it aside. Check this link to know-> How to thaw frozen cooked Shrimp
Method :-

1). Heat the oil in Pan.Add jeera and bay leaf.
2). Add chopped onion and saute till they are golden in color. Then add ginger- garlic paste and fry for a minute. Now add tomatoes and fry well until it becomes mushy.
3). Add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and mix well.
4). Add the coconut milk and water and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
2). Add chopped onion and saute till they are golden in color. Then add ginger- garlic paste and fry for a minute. Now add tomatoes and fry well until it becomes mushy.
3). Add coriander powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt and mix well.
4). Add the coconut milk and water and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
5). When the mixture thickens add the cooked shrimp and gently mix them around. Let it simmer for 4-5 minutes.
6). Check for
salt and spice. Garnish with coriander and curry leaves.

1. If you do not have frozen Shrimp, You can saute Shrimp in oil for 5minutes and add to the curry.
2. You can also add capsicum to this.
3. Adding curry leaves later in the curry gives a great flavor to this curry.
4. You can substitute Shrimp with any meat.
