Fruits - Info & Tips



Fruits have natural sugar that also provides carbohydrates which in turn boost your energy levels. Fruits such as bananas and apples contains vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber,that gives a natural boost of energy before your workout.


APPLE :-  

# Lemon juice when added to fruits like apple and bananas after cutting will prevent them from turning blackish immediately.

# you need to look for bright-colored skin and rigid fruit; shun any with bruises or dark spots. The best way to store apples is in puncture plastic bags in the refrigerator.
# If you want to enhance your body in a natural way healing mechanisms then have pineapple in your diet. Choose the fresh fruit because it has the most healing properties.

APRICOT :-
# Excellent for potassium and magnesium which supplies stamina. Also a good source of iron. 

# Only cantaloupes can rival apricots for the amount of beta carotene. 

# Apricots should be fairly firm, but not rock hard. 

# Coloration should be orange with a brush of pink revealing the sweet flesh below. 

# They can be stored for two to three days at room temperature and slightly longer in the refrigerator. Always remove pit before juicing.  

AVOCADO :-
# They are rich in folic acid,that helps to prevent some kind of birth defects.

# When you consume avocado with other vegetables, you absorb more nutrients than you would have from eating the vegetables alone.
 
BANANA :-

CANTALOUPE / MUSKMELON :-
# Cantaloupes tend to have better flavor when left on your counter top vs. sitting in your refrigerator.


# Not sure if your cantaloupe is ripe to eat yet? Just shake it! You should be able to hear the seeds when it is 100% ripe.

# If your cantaloupe is too soft when feeling it, it is probably overripe.

# When you only need half your cantaloupe, make sure you leave the seeds on the other half and wrap it and put it in the fridge until ready to consume.
 
CHERRIES :-
# Cherries are rich in iron and said to be both as laxative and blood builder.
 
# Cherries contain anthocyanin, the red pigment which helps reduce pain and inflammation. 

# They also contain high levels of melatonin which is important for the proper functioning of the immune system. 

# Cherries are low in calories, low in fat and contain a high percentage of water.

# They help in removal of toxic substances.

# To check to see if cherries contains any worms, put them in a bowl of water, if they float they have worms in them.


# Cherries keep longer if they are kept in the refrigerator , they can last up to 10 days!

# Never leave cherries by a window or a warm area, this is will cause them to decay quickly!

CRANBERRY :- 
# Cranberries are rich in iron content.These fruits along with Iron contains lots of Antioxidants,Vitamin A and E.

# They are packed with antioxidants and vitamins.These fruits are low in sugar content. 

# Cranberries are a complex little fruit, being tested by scientists for their abilities in virus-fighting. 

# The juice of cranberries is very bitter, so it is advisable to combine it with a sweeter juice such as apple or grape, a delicious combination. 

# You can buy cranberries all year round. Look for bright color and plumpness. They are one of the few fruits that freeze well.

DATES :-
# Dates or dried dates are nutritious to the human body.

# Along with iron they contain Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and vitamins A and B. 

# Dates can also boost your energy level too.

FIG :-
Figs are also low in sugar and are packed with fiber.
GOOSE BERRY :- 
# This is packed with antioxidants and vitamins.These fruits are low in sugar content.

# It purifies blood, helps regulate flow of blood. It also increases flow of urine and helps remove urinary problems.

# It is very useful for the treatment of acidity and helps digest food.  
# It is good for eyes, teeth, skin and for the treatment of infection of kidney.  

# It helps to increase red blood cells.

# This fruit is very useful for hair problems. It prevents hair fall and keeps hair black and bright. 

GRAPES :-
# Grapes are better in the coldest part of your refrigerator and remember to only wash them as you need.
# Make sure you go for the brightest color grapes! Grapes do not ripen after they have been picked off the vine. So, you wanna choose the best looking ones, make sure they have no wrinkles.

# The restorative power of grapes is phenomenal, cleansing the liver and removing the uric acid from the body.  
# Grapes are the most over-sprayed of all the fruits, therefore wash thoroughly. 

# Always look for a faint powdery appearance, indicating blooming. 

# A grape bunch should have a few grapes either falling off or mushy. The stems should not be shriveled, but green-looking. 

# Grapes can be kept for a week in the refrigerator.  



JACK FRUIT :-
# Oiling knife and hand helps in reducing the stickiness while cutting and washing Jack-fruit.

KIWI :-
# With a good percentage of fibre, kiwi fruit acts as a mild laxative, aiding in the prevention of colon cancer.

# The fibre also helps remove toxins from the body and reduces chlestrol levels, leading to the lowering of heart diseases and heart attacks.

# They are highly rich in vitamin C. You can feed kiwi with or without the peel intact.

LEMON :- 
# Lemons with the smoothest skin and the smallest points on each end have more juice and a better flavor.

# It has beautiful smell and is rich in Vitamin C, Calcium and phosphorous. 


# Fresh juice of lemon with honey is a good remedy for obesity. Daily taken in the morning in an empty stomach will help to reduce weight. 

# Add a spoon of lime juice to a glass of buttermilk and drink this to energize your body. 

# Lime juice with soda is an excellent home remedy for stomach disorders and all kinds of digestive disorders. 

# Lemon is also good for scurvy, arthritis as it is rich in vitamin C. 

# Lemons are the king of citrus fruit. Because of their high source of bioflavonoids, they are powerful in detoxifying the body.

# Lemon is excellent in fruit salads, inhibiting the discoloration of fresh fruit exposed to the air.

MANGO :-

ORANGES :-
# Always pick oranges with the biggest holes by examining the navel. They tend to be the sweetest.

# Sometimes oranges are dyed to improve their appearance so the color of them is no indication of quality.

# Brown spots on the skin indicate a good quality orange.

# Need a nice smell in the house? Take a cup of water, some orange peels and a cinnamon stick , and leave on low heat, and your neighbors will be knocking on your door for dinner!

# Orange peels are great for your nails, so next time you peel an orange rub the outside on the orange peel on your nail for a few seconds.

PAPAYA:-
Papaya is commonly used fruit in the weight loss program.
 # Papaya is one of the fruit which diabetic patients can eat. 

# Papaya which is rich in vitamin A is good for eye sight. It should be common practice to take papaya atleast twice a week.

 # Papaya is good for skin. Those who are looking for beauty tips, should eat papaya which will improve their skin for within.


 # The beta carotene in papaya helps in developing our body's immune system.

# They contains vitamins A, C, and E; calcium, phosphorus, and iron. Papaya helps to soothe the stomach.

PEACH :-
# This fruit is sweeter but it contains only 9g of sugar per serving amount.

# Strawberries can be frozen for up to 1 year in your freezer.

# Never wash strawberries until you are ready to eat them, the water will cause them to become mushy.

# Smaller strawberries tend to be more juicy and flavorful.

# Rule of thumb is true in this one.... The Redder the Better! Make sure you get the reddest strawberries and make sure the leaves are green and not dry and brownish in color.

WATERMELON :-

They provide high levels of protein, Carbohydrates, Potassium, Vitamin C and B. As the iron content in watermelon is high it boosts the energy level.
