Mushroom and Peas cooked in spicy onion tomato gravy enriched by cashew paste. Mushroom Peas masala goes best with any variety of Indian Roti or Pulao. The crisp onions and tangy tomatoes are well balanced with chewy mushrooms and exotic spices.
Ingredients :-

Mushroom | 2 cups |
Peas | 1 cup |
Ginger garlic paste | 1 tbsp |
To Grind :-
Onion (sliced lengthwise) | 1 |
Green chillies (chopped) | 2 |
Tomatoes (chopped) | 2 |
Cashews | 10 |
Turmeric powder | ½ tsp |
Chilli powder | 1 tsp |
Garam masala powder | ½ tsp |
Bay leaf | 1 |
Cloves | 3 |
Cinnamon | 1 " stick |
Method :-

1). Trim the stem of the button mushrooms. Leave them whole if small or cut them into 1/2 or 1/4. Click the link to know :- How to clean the Mushroom.
2). Heat oil in a pan, add the Bay leaf, Cloves and Cinnamon, saute them till fragrant. Add the sliced onions and saute until they turn translucent. Then add green Chillies and saute for a minute.

# When buying mushrooms, pick white firm ones. These taste lot better than the soft mushrooms.
# If you want to skip the masala making process, you can grind the all the ingredients listed under masala paste with out roasting them. But I like the taste of the masala that is roasted and then ground to paste.
