Mullangi Chutney | முள்ளங்கி சட்னி | Radish Chutney

Mullangi/Radish Chutney is simple yet delicious. This veggie chutney is a great accompaniment for Idli, Dosa and paniyaram varieties. Radish has lots of medicinal values. Radishes are a natural cleansing agent for the digestive system, helping to break down and eliminate stagnant food and toxins built up over time. This recipe is a good way to incorporate this healthy veggie in our diet.

Ingredients :-
------------------- 
 Baby radish (roughly chopped)     10
 Onion (roughly chopped) 1 
 Tomato (roughly chopped) 1  ¼ tsp
 Red chillies  8-9  ¾ tsp 
 Ginger      1" piece  ½
 Garlic    3 pods  
 Tamarind  marble size  
 Hing  pinch   
 Curry leave  1 sprig  
 Oil  1 tbsp
 Salt  to taste   
 Method :-
------------  
1). Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, garlic pieces, curry leaves, red chillies and onions, saute till onions turns translucent.
2). Add tomatoes and saute till it turns mushy. Then add chopped radish and saute till the raw smell goes. Switch off and let it cool. 
3). Grind it along with salt, tamarind, hing and little water (if needed). Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and allow to splutter, add the urad dhal and curry leaves and fry till golden. Top this seasoning on chutney and combine well. 
Serve with Idli / Dosa varieties.

# I have used baby radish, but you can very well use regular Radish.
# Seasoning is optional.
