Chocolate Dipped Strawberries | The 300th Post !

Chocolate dipped strawberries makes an easy & elegant dessert in a jiffy. They are perfect for any special occasions when decorated with frosting bells,  flowers, etc. Strawberries when added in chocolate turn into a gourmet treat! It tastes best when eaten the same day they are made.

Hooray for the 300th Post! I thought of posting some dessert recipe to celebrate this occasion. This recipe has been on my waiting list for too long, I was waiting for some special occasion to post this.

Ingredients :-
-----------------
 Strawberries(ripe)   few
Chocolate bar or chocolate chips   ¼ cup
Chopped nuts (almonds or peacans)   ¼ cup
Method :-
-------------
1). Rinse the strawberries, float the strawberries in a large bowl of cold water. Keep them to a single layer and gently swish your hand around. Leave the strawberries in for a minute and dry them thoroughly.

2). Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave until it is melted, stirring after every 30 seconds. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolates in stove-top until smooth, both works fine.
3). Once the chocolates are melted and smooth, remove from the heat. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment or waxed paper or nonstick foil.
4). Holding the strawberry by the stem or insert toothpicks into the tops of the strawberries, dip into the melted chocolate. Coat them 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up. Twirling it in a circular motion to evenly cover most of the berry. Lift and twist the strawberry so that any excess chocolate drips back into the bowl.
5). Topping makes it more appetizing and there are are many delicious possibilities. Roll the chocolate dipped strawberries gently in the nuts to coat before placing them on the parchment.
6). Insert the toothpicks into a piece of Styrofoam for easy cooling, or simply place the berry on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining berries. Once all of the berries are decorated, place them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes till the chocolate sets.
Serve chilled or at room temperature. Chilled strawberries will have a nice crunch to the chocolate and room temp will make the chocolate a bit softer to bite through.

Notes :-
----------
# Overheated chocolate gets thick and hard to work with, so it's important to keep a careful eye on the chocolate. Remove it when some pieces are still not melted, and stir until they melt.
# Experiment with double-dipping the strawberries in different chocolates to vary the flavor and appearance.
# If using chocolate bars, coarsely chop them and melt. If you are using low-quality chocolate chips, you might need to add a little vegetable shortening to thin it out and make it easy to work with.
# Do not move or touch them after you set them down or you will disturb the lovely chocolate shell.
# Make sure to dry the strawberries after cleaning. The chocolate won't stick if they're wet.
