Peas Pulao is easy to prepare and definitely a crowd-pleaser. This pulao can be served with any veg & non-veg gravies or even simple raita.
Ingredients :-
-------------------
To grind :-
Method :-
---------------
1). Wash the rice till the water runs clear. Soak the rice for 10 minutes, drain and keep aside. (Optional step - Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan and fry the rice till it releases a nice aroma).
2). Coarsely grind the items listed under "to grind".
3). Heat oil or ghee in a pan/pressure cooker. Add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaf and saute till the spices release their aroma and become fragrant. Then add cumin and let it splutter. Add the onions, salt and fry till the onions turn translucent.
3). Then add the grounded masala and saute till the raw smell leaves. Add peas and saute for 2 minutes.
4). Transfer the contents to the rice cooker and add the drained rice. Add 1½ cup of water and and cook till it turns to warm-mode. If using pressure cooker, cover and cook for 2whistles. Once done, fluff with rice with a fork.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with any gravy or raita. I served this peas pulao with Egg Masala.
Notes :-
----------
# Use coconut milk to enhance the richness.
# You can prepare this using frozen or dried peas. If using dried peas, soak them for 3-4 hours before using.
# Adjust the quantity of green chillies based on the side-dish you are planning to serve.
# Do not break the rice while mixing before and after cooking. Care should be taken!
# You can also garnish with ghee fried nuts.
# Add handful of mint leaves for nice flavor to the pulao.
